saw a Metalheadz show last week
i went to see "Invaderz", last week. i had never heard of them. but i did find out that they release singles occasionally on Metalheadz, so i was immediately interested.
from the photos i've seen, looks like they are a trio. i'm not sure if i saw all of 'em or just one of 'em.

lol well what i DO know is that i saw two or three drumandbass deejays. they weren't that good, except for the last one, who was excellent.
actually come to think of it, i believe only one showed up. the others were just local guys, who played boring sets that relied too much on the two step rhythm.
luckily things got much better when the headliner appeared. he had a better track selection and louder equipment than the opening acts. he even managed to play the classic 'music box', which is a track i never thought i would hear live.
i wish there was more emceeing at dnb shows, however. it helps a lot.
here is the one, out of the three, who showed up:

cd/mp3 players
Now Playing: mount eerie: wind's poem
jon, you mentioned before about how cd players that play discs of mp3s are somehow not popular. well, it turns out that the discman that i've been using to do exactly that is starting to give out audio-wise so i want to replace it. but nobody sells discmen that play mp3s! i found one at J&R that did, but then i tried using it and it randomly skipped over tracks, so it was no good. i don't want to order something online cause then i can't just walk back to where i got it and return it. so i dunno, i might just have to get a cd discman (because i still buy, receive as promos, and listen to lots of audio cds) and then get a non-ipod mp3 player for all the crap i download. eventually i'll just have to upgrade and get some external hd's and rip all my cds and records, and get an mp3 player with more storage capacity to store as much as possible.
fortunately, portable cd and mp3 players are cheap and easy to find these days.... just not one that does both at the same time...

it's tek 9 dammit
Image by feck_aRt_post via Flickri'm a huge fan of the London jungle/rap artist TEK 9 (from 4 hero) but usually when i look him up i get results for some (apparently more popular) Kansas rapper named TECH N9NE.
worse, the phrase 'TEK 9' is so common to two cultures (hip-hop culture and/or NRA gun-nut culture), that scores of links about other amateur rappers and gun shows appear. it doesn't even matter that TEK 9 is misspelled.
there should be a law against horrible musicians and republicans screwing up my music research like this. :)
