I really got into dubstep in 2007 – yes a bit late but I’m just glad I found the genre before it passed me by. Current critics favourite (and rightly so) Burial released the majestic Untrue, the follow up to his self titled debut, with vocals and a lot of emotion. This is the after club dubstep, the plugging in your headphones and removing yourself from the world dub step, the 4am chill out dubstep.
On the other side you have the club banging dubstep - usually less experimental with the bass all crunked up and the focus on moving your ass…slowly. I liked this side of the dubstep too and FabricLive 37 – Caspa & Rusko provide club dubstep by the spades. I do tend to enjoy the FabricLive CD series and this one is no exception – great use of samples and some chunky tracks to dance to.
I am yet to experience what I have been told is the best Dubstep night in London – FWD at Plastic People in London. It is well known that the combination of a stunning sound system (Funktion One – as used at Fabric) together with the size of the club (small) means you get some amazing results. So my New Year resolution is to attend a FWD night and there really is no excuse as it takes place EVERY Friday.
The track I am going to publish is one of the best on Burial’s album Unreal – Archangel. However it is a nice remix done by 8-Bit Boy.

Burial is so great. i have both albums, they're easily some of the most groundbreaking stuff in recent memory.
this remix you uploaded is ok, but it just kind of sounds like a normal club-friendly remix... doesn't really capture what i like about the Burial albums. and they are albums, definitely meant to be listened to as an experience; NOT club music.
dubstep is great, but it's already gotten to the point where there's too much completely generic formulaic stuff. it's definitely cool in a club with tons of bass. but the stuff i tend to actually listen to tends to be, you know, the more well known/hyped stuff (Skream, Pinch, etc) because it seems to do things that some of the more club-friendly stuff doesn't. to me at least.
also, last year i slept on Parson's couch when i went to SXSW, and now he's signed to Planet ยต and supposedly is releasing an album this year. ha!
No you have that right - I wouldn't want to listen to Burial in a club. No way. For club music you tend to want quite a basic formula of a ton of bass and little else. A sweet hook is a bonus.
The experimental stuff being done by Burial is definitely one for the headphones...
